Iran’s proxy in Yemen launched two hypersonic ballistic missile attacks on Israel on Tuesday morning.
Both attacks failed to hit anything, let alone reach their intended targets.
Israelis were awakened by the Red Alert siren at around 5 am ahead of the first attack, which appeared to be aimed at central Israel.
Sirens were triggered in Samaria and in the Jordan Valley. The Israel Aerial Defense Array intercepted and shot down the missile.
There were no reports of injuries or property damage.
The second attack about two and a half hours later, at around the time parents are bringing their children to school.
That missile was intercepted by the Israeli Air Force, and because it posed no threat whatsoever to the population, no siren was activated.
A Houthi military spokesperson released a different version of the events, as the terror group has done in the past.
“Today we launched two missiles – one at Ben Gurion Airport and the other at a target in occupied East Jaffa – in response to the genocide in Gaza and in response to the break in of thousands of Zionist Jews into the Al-Aqsa Mosque and the desecration of its holy square.”
The claim of a “break in” is a reference to the thousands of Jews who visited the Temple Mount on Monday to mark the 58th anniversary of the reunification of Israel’s capital, Jerusalem Day.
